George Herbert Harries (b. Sept. 19, 1860, South Wales, U.K.-d. Sept. 28, 1934), Major General in the U. S. Army, was a volunteer aide to General Miles in the Wounded Knee Campaign, South Dakota in 1890 and 1891. During World War I, he commanded the 5th Depot Brigade, 186th Infantry Brigade, and 173rd Infantry Brigade. Peter Charles Harris (b. Nov. 10, 1865, Kingston, Ga.-d. March 18, 1951), Major General in the U.S. Army, graduated from West Point in 1888. He participated in the Battle of San Juan Hill and the siege of Santiago de Cuba and in operations against Philippine insurgents (two tours).
